Description:
Position Summary: The Benefits Specialist reports to the Director of Operations. Performs tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records. Duties include checking, auditing and reconciling benefit records for compliance with established standards, maintaining records, entering new hires into the benefits system, notifying payroll specialist of benefits enrollees or changes and miscellaneous changes. Tasks are generally routine and require little or no deviation from established procedures. Works under medium supervision. Duties and Responsibilities: ? Responds to all benefits inquiries, documents and advises management in a timely manner. ? Analyzes, prepares and inputs benefit data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely reports. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws. ? Reconciles benefit invoices against payroll date to insure accurate deductions were withheld from each payroll. ? Sets up new hire enrollments into benefits system in a timely and efficient manner. ? Ensures accurate set up of all deductions and responsible for transmitting reports and payments for all benefits; 125 plan, medical, dental and vision, 401k, 105 plan, STD & LTD, AFLAC, for all employees. ? Maintains accurate and up to date benefit files and employee benefits forms. ? Completes unemployment claims and wage withholding orders in a timely manner. ? Perform job duties in accordance with Synergy Services vision, mission and values. Education and Work Experience: The ideal Benefits Specialist will have 3+ years benefits experience or an HR degree. Provide analytical support for compensation department activities.? Provide analytical support to Senior Directors Compensation Consulting to include producing side by side compensation package comparisons as requested, employee impact analysis for reorganization activity and various market analysis for business groups? For approved compensation changes coordinate with Sr. Directors Compensation Consulting to• Prepare spreadsheets for processing of mass job/salary changes• Approve MSS tickets for approved job/salary changes? Conduct cost modeling and employee impact analysis for proposed new programs or program changes? Process weekly compensation department reports, audit job and compensation data on a bi-weekly basis; Collaborate with HRIS to ensure accurate job and organization data in Oracle? Track and report on compensation changes through out the year to include number of transactions and compensation spend by Group? Responsible for Market Pay data to include:• Ensure updated of Level 3 data• Coordinate survey job matches with Sr. Directors Compensation Consulting for survey participation and market pricing• Compile and submit salary survey data• Create, run, and manipulate market data reports• Create ad-hoc market pricing analyses as needed• Market price new and revised jobs as needed? Conduct geographic differential analysis annually and as needed for new locations or as requested for current locations? Conduct OFCCP analyses as neededRequirements:? Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or Finance? 3 – 5 years of compensation related experience? Knowledge of federal and state laws impacting compensation programs ? Knowledge of market pricing and job evaluation techniques ? Advanced Microsoft Excel skills? Ability to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization?
