Payroll & Benefits Specialist The payroll & benefits specialist provides accounting, payroll and administrative support to the human resources department, with an emphasis on payroll and benefits administration. Coordinates payroll process and assists human resources in advising employees and supervisors regarding pay and benefits. Duties include, but not limited to: Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing. Duties include: reviewing and computing employee time cards; entering employee master file information and pay data; ensuring accuracy of payroll prior to sending. Maintains all payroll files.Responsible for processing enrollments, changes and terminations for all health care plans in a timely and accurate manner. Reconciles and pays monthly health care plan bills.Assists HR team in orienting new employees to payroll and benefits and annual open enrollment activities. Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state and local regulations regarding payroll and benefits, including COBRA and FLSA. Prepares and develops reports for internal and external customers, including GSUSA , US Government, etc. Demonstrates proficiency in HRIS report writing. Assists HR team in the recruiting process of new employees including phone screening and coordinating interviews Provide support for the seasonal summer hiring process Job Requirements Associates Degree in business, accounting or relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Previous experience in payroll/benefits/HR preferred. PC proficient, skilled in use of MS Office Suite, strong spre ads heet and report-writing skills, HRIS & ADP experience strongly preferred. Previous recruiting experience a plus A self-starter who can work independently with minimal oversight, takes initiative, uses discretion, maintains confidentiality, self-manager, flexible, thrives in an ever changing and fast-paced environment, organized and has a strong attention to detail. Highly developed people and project management skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships.
