Job Title: HR/Benefits Specialist

Description:
The incumbent is responsible for processing and completing day-to-day activities of benefits programs, including but not limited to enrollments, terminations, changes, billing, updating beneficiaries, reporting, and answering employee questions. The incumbent will provide outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: · Assists employees with questions about benefits and benefit plans and procedures, directing them to the applicable resource as appropriate. · Administers various employee benefit programs such as health insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability programs, 401(k), and Flexible Spending Accounts. · Coordinates human resource procedures to initiate and terminate benefits in a timely manner. · Coordinates completion of appropriate documentation within applicable time limits. · Completes and submits monthly billings for all benefit programs. · Completes and maintains appropriate documentation of processes and procedures. · Maintains employee data in HRIS and employee benefit files. · Compiles reports from HRIS. (e.g. census reports, benefit enrollees, etc.) · Manages annual open enrollment process. · Creates and distributes internal benefit promotions. · Completes benefit surveys. · Maintains knowledge of applicable state, local and federal laws related to benefits and benefit programs. · Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: · Maintains knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements. · Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills. · Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills. · Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or one to two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. PHR Certification preferred. · Working knowledge of all MS Office programs is essential.
