Manages significant/potentially significant workers compensation claims for the Building Efficiency (BE)Manufacturing business including the assessment and analysis of risk, development of cost containment strategies, action planning and associated recommendations to move claims to settlement or closure. Works with plant management to understand business risks and options related to claims, and in making appropriate decisions.Provides direction to third party claims administrators on JCIs claims management expectations (restricted duty, settlement authority, etc.) and evaluates their performance regularly through file reviews.1. Oversees/manages significant/potentially significant workers compensation claims including the assessment and analysis of risk, development of strategies, action plans and associated recommendations to move claims to settlement or closure. Works with the local management team to understand business risks and options, and in making appropriate decisions.2. Obtains and provides where appropriate, authority for claim settlement or closure and communicates to legal representation and/or third party claims administrator (TPA).3. Provides in-depth assessment of all incoming work-related injuries/illnesses on the Corporate Health Environmental and Safety System (CHESS), with referral to safety representative as appropriate for follow-up on safety-issues.4. Is focal point of contact for plant/area/account level workers compensation administrators and employees with questions concerning workers compensation claim submittal, case management, benefits, medical treatment, etc.5. Provides direction to the insurance company and third party claims administrators on JCIs claims management expectations (restricted work, settlement authority, etc.) and the strategies in place to manage workers compensation claims.6. Evaluates the performance of third party claims administrators on a regular basis through means such as file reviews, and communicates issues to Risk Management.7. Provides ongoing training and resource material to those involved with workers compensation on the plant/area/account level.1. Champion early return-to-work, safety and other related programs to contribute to reduced incidents and lost time.2. Directs workers compensation cost containment programs such as litigation management, immediate notification reporting, injured employee communication, telephonic injury reporting, etc.10. Develops and implements innovative workers compensation cost containment strategies.11. Manage the collection of injury reports on the CHESS System including verification of Controls Group (CG)monthly accident statistics before the Corporate Safety Report download.12. Develops monthly change in claim value reports and quarterly open claim reports to keep CG and local management teams aware of significant developments in CG workers compensation claims. Provides appropriate reports and detail for quarterly reserve review meetings and the Penalty/Refund process.13. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of workers compensation best practices, statues and techniques used to manage, assess, and track work-related injuries in the US and Canada.14. Keeps Safety and Health team aware of trends in employee and associated workers compensation case management. Also acts as liaison between team and risk management in communicating changes/developments with TPAs.

Essential Functions: * Administer Brookdale's restricted strock plan and Associate Stock Purchase Plan. This includes communication to participants, administration, and managing the relationship with the third party vendor. * Design and maintain compensation related databases and systems that support compensation programs throughout Brookdale. Candidate Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or equivalent. * Two to four years of related experience in a public company including design, development and communication of new compensation related programs. * Must possess strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel. * Experience with system and database implementations is preferred.
