Summary: Under the direction of the Director, Business Operations, the Human Resources Assistant handles coordination and processing of employment related functions, including payroll processing and management of related documentation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Payroll and tax administration processing for all internal employees and Experts. Monitors fulfillment of laws associated with employer compliance in the workplace. Handles administrative tasks related to internal recruiting, from job posting to monitoring interview activities. Processes hires and terminations of internal staff. Manages unemployment claims processing. Processes and tracks employee documentation and status changes. Employee benefits administrator and liaison. Generates and coordinates updates to employee handbooks, and internal policies and procedures. Other administrative duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business or human resource related field. Prior staffing and recruiting experience preferred. Skills Needed: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of the organization. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to multi-task and be flexible. Quick learner, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Attention to detail, with the ability to handle confidential information. Physical Requirements: Must be able to read written reports, business correspondence and typed information on a computer screen. Must be able to hear well enough to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers and clients. Must be able to write, type and use the telephone. As part of the responsibilities of this position, may be required to climb stairs, stoop or kneel to retrieve items, lift office supplies, and pull or push doors.
