Duties/Responsibilities: The Primary focus of the Human Resources Consultant is to manage training and development and assist in day-to-day operations. This position works closely with the Director of Human Resources in developing and launching training and development initiatives for the Carlson School of Management. This position will also assist in consultation and support on Human Resource issues, including recruitment and hiring, employee/labor relations, compensation and classification. This position interprets and applies University and Carlson School Human Resources policy and business process. Strategic Alignment- 60% *Develop and deliver employee training programs (i.e., New Hire Orientation, Performance Review Training, Job Standards Training, etc.) *Execute strategic and tactical initiatives developed in partnership with the Director Human Resources or the Dean's executive team *Evaluate and measure strategic initiatives and training program effectiveness and make recommendation for improvements (Performance Management, Orientation etc). *Advise units on organizational development issues (i.e. team building with insights training, respectful work place). *Provide staff and program units consultation on how to effectively deal with change management issues (i.e., layoffs, leadership changes, non-renewals, turnover of key positions). *Oversee the planning and execution of the annual community building activities.
