SummaryThe Payroll/HR Specialist will have experience with ADP products including ADP EZ Labor, Pay Expert, and Human Resources and Benefits system and must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of ADP reporting tools including Pay Expert, EZLM, and HRB. Must have flexible availabilty to work between the hours of 7am-6pm M-F, depending upon business needs.In the position the Payroll/HR specialist will be responsible for performing general HR duties as well as payroll-specific functions that include compiling and posting employee clock-in/out times and payroll data, computing employees' time worked, production, and commissions, computing and posting wages and deductions, and distributing paychecks.Essential FunctionsCompile and keep personnel records, enter and record data for each employee such as address, exemptions, transfers, weekly earnings, absences, performance, and termination according to company policy and procedure Maintain company payroll systems Compile and enter payroll data such as garnishments, paid time off, and insurance and 401(k) deductions, utilizing company payroll system Compute employees' time worked, wages, and deductions in accordance to company polices and labor law Distribute paychecks and obtain signatures from employees for the paychecks (every other Friday), maintain payroll sign-off sheets Poll electronic time clocks (EZ labor manager) and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies Contact employee and/or various department supervisors for any time discrepancies Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments and post that information onto designated records Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases Keep informed about changes in tax and deduction laws that apply to the payroll process Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, benefit plans, etc. Complete time sheets, showing employees' arrival and departure times Process weekly transfer of payroll data to ADP Pull many internal management reports from ADP including EZLM, Pay Expert, and HRB File and scan employment records, payroll data, and other payroll/HR documents in accordance with company retention guidelines Search employee files and furnish information to authorized persons Provide general HR support to the department Knowledge, skills and abilitiesKnowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications Knowledge of principles and procedures for compensation and benefits, personnel information, and payroll systems Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data Knowledge of labor laws, specifically FLSA Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files, and other office procedures and terminology Demonstrate critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Demonstrate ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time Demonstrate effective communicate including ability to provide information internally and externally in written form, e-mail, or in person Good typing skills, attention to detail, accurate, and well organized Ability to use computer applications and other office equipment including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint Education and ExperienceTwo year degree in the subject area and/or two years progressively responsible experience in assigned or related field; or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.Must have experience with ADP products including ADP EZ Labor, Pay Expert, and Human Resources and Benefits system.
