Job Title: Employee Relations Specialist Company: Mercy Medical Center Location: Baltimore, MD Description: Mercy Medical Center in downtown, Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking a full-time, day shift, Employee Relations Specialist to assist employees and managers with questions regarding policies, practices and procedures; manage unemployment compensation; coordinate workers's compensation, and other programs as needed.  Duties include:  conducting internal investigations involving employee complaints and disciplinary matters, as well as mentoring and counseling, and make recommendations to management re: solutions; meeting with employees for permance improvement plans for absenteeism, tardiness, and other issues; maintaining disciplinary database to record all written warnings and suspensions; serving as contact person for Employee Health for matters related to, but not limited to, fitness for duty examinations, employment physicals, work-related injuries and return-to-work issues; assisting with creating presentations and training for staff and managers on HR policies, applicable laws and regulations; teaching HR policies and procedures at monthly new management orientation; attending worker's compensation, unemployment and EEO hearings representing the Hospital; serving as back up for Employee Relations Director; and other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:  Must possess Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Human Relations, or related field.  Must possess 3-5 years of employee relations experience, healthcare experience preferred.  PHR certification preferred.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access.We offer an excellent compensation package.  Please apply to www.mdmercy.com.  EOE
