Our Employee Relations department is still growing! Knowledge Learning Corporation, the nation leading provider of early childhood eduction, is actively seeking an Employee Relations Representative 1 position to join our growing ER team. Job Summary: The Employee Relations Representative I provides consultation to employees and field management as part of the Human Resources Call Center. Job Responsibilities: Essential Functions: Partners with field operations management on Employee Relations matters. Guides field management on conducting proper investigations. Acts as a consultant in determining coaching opportunities and/or disciplinary action. Collaborates with Sr. Human Resources Specialists or Employee Relations Supervisors on complex or escalated issues. Partners with employees and management to communicate and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and government regulations. Documents issues, concerns and recommendations. Assists in investigating and responding to employee complaints, harassment allegations, civil rights complaints and wage/hour violations. Responds to written correspondence, emails and Ethics Hotline messages. Communicates and clarifies KLC policies and procedures. Serves as the point of contact for unemployment requests. Maintains a manner and philosophy consistent with company standards. Presents oneself professionally at all times. Instills trust and confidence by maintaining objectivity and clearly communicating rationale behind recommendations. Other related duties and special projects as assigned. Adaptability Requirements: Position requires a high degree of adaptability.Incumbent will be faced with a variety of issues on a day to day basis and will be expected to respond to these issues appropriately. Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an office environment with extensive use of the telephone and computer, which may include sitting for extended periods of time. Overnight travel may be required. Experience and Education: 2-4 years Human Resources generalist experience required 1 year experience in Employee Relations experience preferred 1 year of management in a child care setting may substitute for 1 year of HR experience Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field maysubstitute for 1 year of HR experience Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint required Experience working in a call center environment preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to respond to a variety of customers/issues in a fast paced environment while maintaining customer service focus. Acts with a high level of integrity at all times. Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures. Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally. Ability to manage a high volume workload and prioritize time sensitive issues as they arise. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with company guidelines. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
