The Supported Employment Specialist works with Luke-Dorf, Inc. clients in the Hillsboro program to help them become and remain employed in competitive community jobs.  The position works in coordination with the SE supervisor, Case Managers and the interdisciplinary team.  The position uses a community placement model for employing people with persistent mental illness, assessing each client’s employment capabilities and interests, targeting potential jobs, exploring and developing job possibilities in the community, making job placements, providing training assistance as needed, and offering continuing support as necessary.  Accountabilities: (Responsibilities of the job)·        Conduct client assessment and develop job placement plan based on client input.·        Research possible job openings and opportunities for clients by contacting employment services, newspaper want ads, previous contacts, and any other means of reaching potential employers.·        Perform job analysis, matching potential openings with clients’ needs and skills, as well as logistics of getting to the job site, negotiating accommodations as needed.·        Set up interviews for clients, assist clients with application, resume preparation, interviewing skills and job preparation.·        Perform intervention as needed with assigned clients previously placed who may be at risk of losing their jobs.  Work closely with employer and clients to resolve issues as soon as possible.·        Provide job coaching as determined by client’s needs and employer’s wishes.·        Coordinate and consult with other team members to keep team informed of issues and progress.·        Establish and maintain connections with businesses offering employment opportunities.·        Develop and maintain relationship with Vocational Rehabilitation Division by keeping them informed on progress via phone contact and with accurate and timely written reports.·        Provides rehabilitation services necessary for clients to obtain and maintain employment.·        Ensure timely completion of all required paperwork.  ·        Attend information, clinical, and training meetings as assigned, which may include all employee, team, and supervisory meetings, consultations, employee, intra-agency trainings, etc.·        Continually increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency·        Document all consumer contact at time of service.·        Assist clients in agency housing with rental paperwork.·        Educate and advocate for the values and principles of the Recovery Model.
