Job Summary This role will provide expertise in the drafting/development, negotiation and management of complex technology related contracts. Responsibilities - Establish current and long range objectives, plans, and policies- Create a technical vision for the function and plan for implementation of new technical projects- Create technical budgets, allocate resources, and determine schedule of technology releases or project deadlines- Dispense advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and procedures- Plan and direct all investigations and negotiations pertaining to technical aspects of mergers, joint ventures, acquisition of businesses, or sales of major assets- Establish and maintain an effective system of communications throughout the organization- Analyze new technologies and run competitive analyses- Review operating results of the function, compare them to established objectives, and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results- Lead and manage the entire IT sourcing lifecycle including, but not limited to, request for proposal creation, contract review, negotiation and implementation; maintenance renewal, and contract terminations- Manage the purchase order and software, hardware and service contract processes including documentation maintenance- Draft, negotiate, and review contracts for the procurement of IT products and services- Manage multiple contracts simultaneously, ensuring compliance and providing ongoing delivery of service- Design and maintain standard purchasing processes, procedures, contract tracking mechanisms, and metrics across the IT organization to gain efficiencies and to drive continuous improvement- Communicate continuously with internal personnel, providing project status and analysis throughout contract development and negotiations- Collaborate with vendors and internal clients to identify and resolve areas for improvement relevant to contractual obligations- Improve quality, service, and vendor accountability, and help develop alternate sourcing strategies- Provide guidance and support to senior management on all IT procurement issues including IT initiatives, vendor relationships and identifying EVA positive opportunities- Partner with Corporate and Business Unit staffs to accomplish IT procurement activities including RFI s, RFQ s and RFP s as well as to resolve vendor performance issues and contract compliance and quality concerns- Establish and manage global VAR s for procurement of IT products and services- Meet or exceed cost savings targets- Follow company policy with regard to internal controls as well as comply with SPX policies to ensure that the employee and the company act legally and with the highest standards of ethics and integrity- Expected Travel: Less than 25% Qualifications - Demonstrated expertise in contract administration and procurement processes- Working knowledge of IT industry including hardware and software for telecom, servers, network, security and messaging platforms- Excellent communication and prioritization skills- Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills- Exhibits a strong ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive, and energy- Works well in a fast growing environment with the ability to deliver on time- Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity- Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements dictated by business and IT requirements - Ability to motivate successful team behavior- Excellent PC software skill to facilitate efficient tracking of contracts- Bachelor s Degree or related field or the recognized equivalent in work experience or self-study.
