Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Manager - Hubbell Power Systems Company: Hubbell Lighting, Inc. Location: Leeds, AL Description: Description: Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries. Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, connectors, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads. Currently HPS has an opening in their Leeds, AL facility, located minutes outside of Birmingham, for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, direct, and manage safety, health and environmental programs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety, health and environmental regulations. Complete and submit required safety and environmental reports (internal and external). Coordinate activities with corporate environmental management consulting group (EMC, Inc.). Provide safety, health and environmental training to employees as needed. TRAINING AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Working knowledge of hazardous materials, including hazardous waste, asbestos and other hazardous pollutants. Experience inspecting for hazardous materials and understanding processes which can produce hazardous wastes and hazardous air pollutants. Knowledge and experience with OSHA compliance. BS degree in Safety and Health or Environmental Management. Ability to relocate in future for promotion is preferred. Compensation/Benefits Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
