Ensures effective deployment of Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).  Ensures regulatory compliance and collaboration. Leads operations and initiatives towards positive safety, environmental, and social impact. Subject matter expert for Environmental, Health and Safety matters. Responsible for oversight, governance, cost control, incident investigation, analysis, and reporting.  Primary Functions and Responsibilities:Drives division’s EHS performance, incorporates EHS best practices into business processes Responsible for EHS oversight, governance, reporting, cost control. Communicates and enforces EHS policies. Focuses on attracting client’s attention to EHS methodology thereby winning bids and increasing organizational profit. Responds to internal requests for EHS information to support bid and proposal actions.   Cooperates with regulators and ensures records comply with agency requirements.Coordinates with site safety personnel regarding site EHS matters Environmental: Furthers our environmental initiatives to attain ISO 14001 certification of our EMS. Prepares regulatory briefings for environmental standards. Assists and provides technical support for site assessments. Monitors the company’s performance with regard to environmental impact of its operations.·         Evaluates indicators such as recycling and usage of paper, cardboard, electricity, surplus metals and wood to estimate greenhouse gas impact  Promotes waste minimization, reduction and recycling programs. ·         Strives to achieve zero waste to landfill target·         Develops hazardous waste release contingency plans·         Manages spill prevention and air emissions programs·         Stays abreast of environmental improvement projects related to energy saving, emissions, waste management & disposalSecures environmental permits.Responsible for emergency planning and community right-to-know programs. Health & Safety:Ensures compliance with all OSHA regulations. Develops strategies which place the injury rate below the industry average.Responsible for compliance and adherence to written Health and Safety programs; ensures programs reflect industry trends and current regulations on an on-going basis.Conducts safety evaluations to mitigate potential hazards, reviews projects for potentially hazardous conditions. Provides support for all safety activities and other projects in the field, informs affected personnel of all safety activities.Maintains accident/injury reporting system, monitors injury rates, and minimizes Worker’s Compensation claims.
