The Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager I oversees the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, standards, codes, and Company policies.The EHS Manager I is responsible for full integration of safety and environmental management into the facility's operations.The manager will work with facility management to ensure the facility safety and environmental goals are met.Additionally, the EHS Manager I will make recommendations to the management regarding program implementation and improvements. Improves the quality of and ensures the effective execution of safety and environmental management processes following established regulations, policies, standards and best practices. Directs and is actively involved in a proactive safety and environmental program. Contributes and engages in the development, maintenance and reporting of PSM, RMP, Wastewater, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste, Used Oil, and Storm Water programs. Educates, trains, and provides support to operations in the development and execution of consistent safety and environmental management programs. Executes, measures, and monitors process to assess the overall safety and environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Supports the partnership with risk management (operations) to identify trends and opportunities for improvements in tools, training or processes. Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental programs. Directs accident investigation programs, develops accident trends, and develops programs for improving performance. Manages the program for underground and above ground storage tanks and Spill Prevention and Control programs at the facility and related locations. Is an active member of the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know (ECPRA) programs. Works with transportation safety on common safety and environmental issues related to the facility. Works with corporate Regional EHS Director on setting priorities and goals consistent with the corporate priorities and goals. Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating. Provides management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management.If a collective bargaining agreement exists, may participate in negotiations, grievances or other contract related activities and discussions. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience.Degree in EHS. Internal Candidates: Combination of education (non-EHS field) and/or experience with 5 years of focus in EHS within industrial production facilities and management programs. Completion of the OSHA 511 and 501 course within one year. An EHS-related certification (such as CSHO, OSHT, CET, CHMM, ASP, CSP) is a plus Possesses safety management and program implementation skills. Possesses working knowledge of regulatory requirements for federal and state programs, processes and program implementation strategies. Strong analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics and outcomes. The ability to develop, conduct and maintain training programs using lecture, Powerpoint or practical methods. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail. Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Ability to select, coach, develop, engage and retain a team of employees. 216092-005 Job Description JOB SUMMARY: This opportunity will be on an As Needed basis. Responsible for fulfilling the role and duties of an On-site Environmental Health and Safety Manager. This position develops and executes a safety plan in accordance with the requirements outlined in the companys client contract/agreement. Ensures proper documentation and compliance with all OHSA and federal regulations and guidelines, conducts training, investigations and maintains first line client relationship. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Supervise and document daily activity of job site to maintain OSHA Compliance.-Maintain documents relative to new hire orientation, auditing, contractor safety mtgs, accident investigation and other misc. documents required by the client for the purposes of auditing and OSHA compliance.-Communicate Job Progress with Concentra EH&S contact as well as with assigned project manager and client ehs contact as determined by project to maintain strong lines of communication.-Participate and facilitate meetings to address issues and concerns. Develop action plan and monitor results.-Perform other duties associated with on-site safety professional as determined by the project mgr, client ehs contact and/or Concentra ehs contact to fullfill requirements of the contract. Required Experience EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required (see below).OSHA 30 Hour Training in 1926 and/or 1910 required.First Aid/CPR certified required (AED is a plus).HAZWOPER 40 Certification is a plus.JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: Qualified candidates must have at least 1 of the following bulleted requirements: A Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience in a Construction Safety Management role. or If no degree, 7+ years experience in Safety Management with 4+ years of experience in a Construction Safety Management role. Experience in a Safety Management role within the Oil and Gas industry is a plus. JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:-Comprehensive working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926, EPA 40 CFR and Transportation 49 CFR guidelines. Specifically regulations including hazard communication, hearing conservation, confined space, lockout/tagout, emergency response, powered industrial trucks, machine guarding, record keeping, PPE, BBP, respiratory protection, toxic substances, scaffolding, manlifts, aerial lifts, trenching and shoring, electrical safety, etc.-Excellent Planning and Organizing, Oral, Written Communication and Customer Service skills.-Ability to analyze and problem solve complex issues.-Proficient at group facilitation.Working Environment:Conditions may vary based on assignment.Travel: Significant travel may be required.
