Primary responsibility of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager II is to oversee the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security programs at an assigned plant, ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations, standards, codes and Company policies.  The EHS manager is responsible for full integration of safety and environmental management into the facility’s operations as well as ensuring the facility safety and environmental goals are met.  The EHS Manager II will make recommendations to management regarding program implementation and improvements.   Improves the quality of and ensures the effective execution of safety and environmental management processes following established regulations, policies, standards and best practices. Directs and is actively involved in a proactive safety and environmental program. Contributes and engages in the development, maintenance and reporting of PSM, RMP, Wastewater, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste, Used Oil, and Storm Water programs. Educates, trains and provides support to operations in the development and execution of consistent safety and environmental management programs. Executes, measures and monitors process to assess the overall safety and environmental performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Supports the partnership with risk management (operations) to identify trends and opportunities for improvements in tools, training or processes. Ensures compliance with all safety and environmental programs. Directs accident investigation programs, develops accident trends, and develops programs for improving performance. Manages the program for underground and above ground storage tanks and Spill Prevention and Control programs at the facility and related locations. Is an active member of the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know (EPCRA) programs. Works with transportation safety on common safety and environmental issues related to the facility.  Works with corporate Regional EHS Director on setting priorities and goals consistent with corporate priorities and goals. Cooperates in a cross-functional manner as a change agent with all departments within the Company. Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating. Provides management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management.  If a collective bargaining agreement exists, may participate in negotiations, grievances or other contract related activities and discussions.  Performs other duties as assigned.

We are immediately seeking for a roll up your sleeves - hands-on and out on the floor  Quality/Safety Supervisor with demonstrated success in a filling /or high speed packaging environment.  The Quality/Safety Supervisor provides plant-wide compliance and safety with applicable regulations and customer requirements and coordinates GMP Training for all employees. Ideal candidate’s strengths should include focus, time management and ability to organize and facilitate progress in a rapidly changing environment.  Challenges in this position will include achieving and maintaining Safety, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), providing support and verifying compliance and reliability on the production floor.  You will develop and implement quality improvements, build relationships, drive change and results in the areas of consistency, quality output and increased product volumes.  Primary Responsibilities Will Include: Develop ways for improving component, on-line, and finished product inspection methods with the objective of reducing workload and/or improving quality Performs periodic departmental safety audits Provides training in quality responsibilities, GMP’s, the interpretation of customer specifications, process control. Reviews internal and customer standards and requirements for compatibility and compliance. Coordinates the Quality Improvement Process with an emphasis in Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques Ensures proper use and protocol for the annual hazardous assessment program, action planning, and plant's safety, environmental and security program Provides Industrial Hygiene support, participate in developing and assisting with company wide audit program, and development of site-specific behavioral safety and job safety analysis programs. Identifies, prioritizes, develops and implements workplace injury/illness prevention programs, and health and safety procedures to achieve targets for decreasing accident frequency and severity. Particular strengths in OSHA compliance and programs, training, reporting. and procedures for PPE and safeguards would provide a distinct advantage Must be willing to lead Safety Teams and Committees as well as assist in accident investigations and safety training plant wide. Ideal Candidate will be improvement driven with a desire to achieve and possesses:Minimum 2 years of related quality assurance & safety manufacturing experience in a filling /or high speed packaging environment experience preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Discipline or related discipline, plus knowledge of related areas to acquire sufficient background as to procedures, skill, and supervisory techniques or equivalent combination of education and experience Skills in team building, quality control and assurance, and task training Technical expertise in product quality assurance, knowledge of Quality Standards and experience in product packaging standards, cGMP regulations including ISO a plus.
