ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Lead the sourcing process for purchased materials and assemblies (e.g. machined components, weldments, fabricated metal assemblies, electrical panels, off-the-shelf electronics) for all North America businesses. This effort will include developing sourcing strategies and identifying, qualifying, and selecting suppliers. · Negotiate contracts with suppliers that are consistent with corporate guidelines (e.g. clearly articulate quality requirements). · Interact with R&D and Operations, to identify cost reduction targets for existing products. Develop sourcing initiatives that contribute to realizing these targets. Take a leadership role in the implementation of the initiatives. · Analyze results of individual projects, issue project status reports, no less often than monthly, to the President and Operation Managers. The reports shall include recommendations for additional actions. · Supplier development - organize and lead meetings with key suppliers, and key contacts aimed at improving supplier value. · Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, available, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier?s reputation and history. · Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices. · Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives. · Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action. · Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: · BS degree in a technical discipline required.
