About the Role:
We are seeking a sharp and creative Human Resource Manager to join our team in New York City. This role reports to the SVP, People and will be a critical part of our company culture and the People Team. This individual will be tasked with owning and continuously improving our HR operational practices (onboarding/offboarding, leave administration, performance management, and payroll and benefits administration) as well as managing employee relations and engagement. This is a highly visible role with excellent growth potential that serves both our US and UK employee population. The successful candidate will have solid experience with HR Information Systems (Rippling is a plus!), experience coaching managers through employee issues, stellar communication and problem-solving skills, high EQ, and intrinsic curiosity and drive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and continuously improve core HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS functions and reporting, and full employee lifecycle support.
- Maintain US and UK employee handbooks, policies, and internal documentation in line with evolving regulations with the help of Mineral and our UK compliance partners.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for employees and managers on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and performance matters
- Lead the annual performance management cycle in Rippling and support managers with goal setting and feedback
- Managing employee immigration items including H1-B and permanent resident card applications and processes
- Ensure stellar communication (quality, timing, and frequency) to employees on anything affecting them, from the performance management schedule to new policies to open enrollment
- Input accurate US (bi-weekly) and UK (monthly) payroll and successfully troubleshoot any payroll issues in partnership with Rippling support and our accounting team
- Managing US and UK benefit renewals and benefit changes and act as the point person on directing all benefit inquiries
- Manage leaves of absence across multiple US states and for the UK office
- Manage employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner, including facilitation of Performance Improvement plans
- Lead Diversity and inclusion education and awareness initiatives which may include email campaigns and social media posts
- Drive culture initiatives including partnering with NY based CTO on culture events, company tenure announcements and gifts, and employee life event gifts
- Support Learning and Development initiatives
- Maintain and nurture positive relationships with members of the People Team, employees, and stakeholders
- Special projects as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive HR experience, with a portion of that working in or exposed to UK HR practices
- SHRM-CP or PHR accreditation
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems
- Proficient in HRIS technology and MS office
- Experience working with a remote workforce across multiple US states
- Ability to work in person from our midtown NYC office once per week
- Ability to travel to DC office on occasion.
Salary Range: 115-125K depending on experience (Bonus Eligible)
