Job Description

his position will be responsible for:

  • Managing the talent acquisition staff to include supervising, coaching, motivating and mentoring;

  • Developing strategies to recruit a diverse workforce and meeting the staffing needs of the HSUS even in tight labor markets;

  • Analyzing and monitoring the effectiveness of all recruiting activities and recommending policy and procedure revisions where needed to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness;

  • Acting as a business partner and human resources expert, will provide assistance to department managers in support of development and execution of business strategies and develop/enhance the employee capabilities to ensure success and achievement of goals;

  • Providing advice and counsel to department managers regarding employment activities including promotions, demotions, transfers, temporary assignments, etc. to ensure compliance with HSUS policies and procedures;

  • Providing advice and counsel to employees and managers regarding employee performance and other employee relations issues;

  • Encouraging and implementing proactive approaches to conflict resolution such as participation in employee mediations;

  • Investigating disciplinary situations, gathering evidence, interviewing, formulating case summaries and making recommendations to the Director of Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition;

  • Developing, implementing, and managing the exit interview process and providing regular feedback to the Director, Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition;

  • Keeping abreast of and maintaining a current knowledge and understanding of human resources related trends and legislative activities that may be relevant or impact the organization and recommending strategies for incorporating the requirements into the organizational functions as needed; must continually assess the organization to identify opportunities for improvement to add value-added human resources services and/or programs.

     

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience required; Master’s degree in Human Resources or HRCI/SHRM certification is highly preferred;
  • Minimum five years of experience in employee relations and talent acquisition required;
  • Prior experience working for a government contractor is required;
  • Minimum three years of human resource supervisory experience;
  • Must have progressive knowledge of all areas within human resources with a demonstrated knowledge of human resources policies and practices including employment law and advanced experience in applying that knowledge to daily situations on issues of high complexity and relevance to the organization;
  • Expert knowledge of current Affirmative Action Plan processes, procedures and guidelines;
  • Must have ability to manage conflict and manage composure and control in difficult situations, particularly in group settings;
  • Must be able to work independently and be able to handle information of a sensitive and confidential nature to ensure that information is secured and maintained properly;
  • Must be able to build and foster relationships to reinforce trust, respect and ensure confidentiality with tact, diplomacy and discretion;
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills required;
  • Proficiency with MS Office with extensive experience using MS  Excel and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS); must have ability to create/run/write reports on HR metrics and trends; experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a strong plus;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop staff members.
