Human Resources Manager
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to oversee and execute all HR functions within their aerospace manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on leadership role critical to maintaining a high-performance, safety-first culture, aligning HR practices with regulatory requirements and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring broad HR generalist experience, a solid understanding of manufacturing environments, and the capability to step in as Acting HR Director when required.
Key Responsibilities
Core HR Leadership
Lead full-cycle HR operations including staffing, onboarding, training, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and performance management.
Serve as the primary HR liaison for plant leadership, supervisors, and production teams, fostering a positive, productive workplace.
Ensure full compliance with applicable employment laws and industry regulations (e.g., ITAR, EEO, OSHA).
Director-Level Support
Act as the HR Director’s delegate during periods of absence, supporting leadership meetings, strategic initiatives, and high-level decision-making.
Assist in aligning HR strategy with broader corporate and operational goals in a highly regulated and safety-driven environment.
Partner with cross-functional leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
Talent Development & Compliance
Drive performance management processes, career development planning, and technical training coordination.
Collaborate with EH&S and Quality teams to ensure compliance with training mandates and integrate safety-related HR practices.
Manage sensitive employee investigations, maintaining rigorous regulatory documentation standards.
Policy, Culture & Process Improvement
Develop and enforce HR policies that promote safety, inclusion, accountability, and high performance.
Maintain up-to-date HR documentation, including the employee handbook, job descriptions, and mandatory training records.
Lead process improvements for HR systems and workflows, enhancing scalability and efficiency in a manufacturing setting.
Reporting & HR Systems
Generate HR metrics and reports for leadership, including turnover rates, headcount, absenteeism, and employee engagement indicators.
Effectively utilize HRIS platforms for data integrity, analysis, and workforce tracking.
Maintain accurate personnel and compliance records, ensuring alignment with federal defense contracting requirements (if applicable).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, or related field.
(Master’s degree or HR certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred.)
5–8 years of progressive HR management experience, ideally in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing sectors.
Deep understanding of labor laws, employment regulations, and manufacturing workforce dynamics.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to function at a director level when required.
Experience supporting hourly production employees, technical teams, and professional staff.
High proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience in union environments is a plus.
Work Environment & Schedule
Full-time, on-site position based at the manufacturing facility.
Must be comfortable working in close proximity to shop floor, engineering, and quality control teams in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Occasional after-hours work may be required to support plant operations and leadership initiatives.
