Job Summary
Job Description
The Supervisor, Assessment and Development will oversee the delivery of
technical and leadership assessment, development and retraining programs and
administration of new personnel onboarding activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The
supervisor will support the talent cycle, overseeing strategic sourcing pathways
(e.g., community and school talent pipelines), alignment of performance
competencies with development activities, facilitation and development of high
quality and engaging training materials, selection/promotional testing for
bargaining unit jobs, use of instructional design to create digital learning,
administration of climate assessment and ongoing needs assessment to ensure
that training needs align with the strategic goals of the organization. The
supervisor will also administer a tuition reimbursement program which includes
reviewing and approving employees' requests for educational assistance. In the
role of supervisor, the candidate will schedule, assign and coordinate the work of
employees; provide information and instructions; and resolve problems.
Responsible for overall area operations including data security, and the co-op/
student employment program which entails recruiting, interviewing/counseling
students and records maintenance. In conjunction with the manager and senior
leadership, will monitor and measure all KPIs related to training, such as
progression of employee skills and competencies, effectiveness of training
programs, and completion of assigned training. In conjunction with the manager,
will prepare various reports and records such as area budget, performance
appraisals and monthly/quarterly project/activity reports; serve as departmental
liaison with various departments with major impact, cross functions, integration
and supplier resources. will also research/recommend changes in present
departmental operations, and departmental training policies and/or methods.
Stay current with industry trends in leadership, managerial, and professional
development learning programs, integrating new modalities such as social
learning and mobile delivery. Operate a company vehicle as needed and utilize
computer hardware equipment and software applications. Perform other duties

A valid driver's license from state of residence is required.
Must successfully complete Lopez Assessment Certification.
EDUCATION masters degree in behavioral science, masters degree in corporate training, or
Masters degree in organizational behavior or related area is preferred. 10 years
of experience and related bachelors degree may be substituted for Master's
degree requirement for qualified candidates.
EXPERIENCE 3 years experience developing corporate training and/or leadership
development, 4 years of experience in a corporate and/or HR setting, 2 years of
leadership experience, 2 years of experience in a high reliability organization
(HRO) environment. Proficiency in tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word,
e-learning platforms, Zoom/MS Teams, Canva, Articulate, Oracle or other HRM
software is required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center within 90 days of
hire. Must successfully complete NIMS Training within 1 year of entering job.
Must have experience in a training role (corporate training preferred) knowledge
of adult learning theory and training techniques, LMS and e-learning platforms,
ability to analyze data and generate comprehensive reports, excellent
interpersonal and communication skills, passion for teaching and developing
talent, ability to work independently and as team, time management and
organizational skills. of Physical Demands: Requires sedentary work involving
standing or walking for brief periods, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a
regular basis; and some dexterity in operating office equipment. Works inside
and outside under good conditions.
