GENERAL PURPOSE

Responsible for assisting in the development, administration, and delivery of employee benefit programs. This role provides benefit analysis, solutions, and recommendations that affect benefit plans and internal policies. Additionally, this role is responsible for assisting with employee inquiries and benefit related life events, complex claim resolution, and the communication of employee benefit information to the workforce.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist the manager with the coordination and administration of the annual Benefits Open Enrollment, including communication through written materials and employee work team presentations.

  • Assists benefit administrators with researching and responding to complex employee questions. Joins the team to answer the Benefits Hotline employee calls and emails when appropriate.

  • Assists the manager in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance through government filings, testing's, and plan document maintenance.

  • Assists in the planning, developing, implementation, communication, and administration of the employee benefit and wellness programs.

  • Maintains data integrity by performing audits of our internal HRIS and payroll systems, as well as external vendor systems.

  • Manage work-life programs and vendors through promotion to increase awareness and usage as well as assisting employees navigate the offerings during significant life events.

  • Provide customer service to internal associates.

  • Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging trends and technologies and how they may optimize current business practices.

  • Researches and maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and practices to ensure program compliance.

  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent education and professional experience.

  • 3 + years' experience administering benefit programs.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in developing spreadsheets and performing analysis. Previous experience with data analytic software preferred.

  • Experience with reporting software, such as Cognos.

  • Must be financially literate, possess business acumen, and be profit conscious.

  • Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills to inform and discuss ideas, procedures, and processes in a logical sequence and at a level appropriate to the audience and resulting in effective working relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability and comfort level to effectively present benefits related material to large audiences.

  • Ability to interpret and correctly react to people, incidences or situations that are open to misunderstanding due to cultural differences.

  • Exceptional ability to follow-through and follow-up with internal and external parties to see complex issues through to resolution.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation, communication, software and tools currently used in the HMI office environment.
