Job Description


Premier Early Childhood Education Partners is a private early childhood education organization seeking an HR Intern . This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about early childhood education and eager to gain hands-on experience in human resources. To be QUALIFIED for this position, applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Required shift:
  • Minimum of 15-20 hours per week
Please note that interns will be required to work onsite in our Chicago office located at 120 S. LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL 60603. Schedule is flexible. Compensation: $16-$18 per hour Internship duration: This internship is expected to last one year. Our Hiring Process:
  • Resume screen
  • Phone screen with Recruiter (30 minutes)
  • Onsite interview with Human Resources Director (60 minutes)
  • Onsite interview with Chief Human Resources Officer (30 minutes)

Main Job Responsibilities:
  • Track training and development needs for employees
  • Assist in the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures
  • Support open enrollment and benefits administration
  • Conduct exit interviews and new hire check-ins
  • Review and update employee handbooks and policies across multiple centers/locations
  • Maintain and update the HRIS and employee records
  • Stay informed on legal requirements and government regulations related to HR functions
  • Assist with special projects and provide administrative support to HR and operations teams
  • Help develop field-facing HR resources and training tools
  • Support employee engagement initiatives
  • Build out a playbook and internal documentation for the HR team
  • Conduct research to support HR strategy and decision-making
  • Assist with compliance monitoring and auditing processes
  • Participate in policy and process improvement initiatives
  • Handle various administrative tasks and help ensure smooth daily operations of the HR department
  • Other duties as assigned
