Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefit s Account Manager to join our growing team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL!

The primary responsibility of t he Employee Benefits Account Manager is to support business relationships with an assigned group of clients by providing customer service and follow-up . This role will maintain and strengthen business relationships, using knowledge of insurance markets, products, and competition. Additionally, this role is responsible for servicing the Designated Small Group Book of Business, implementing and renewing group benefit plans. This individual will work closely with other Producers, Marketing, Benefit Coordinator(s), Communications , and Date Entry Specialist.

How You Will Contribute

  • Manage client and prospect relationships to help grow the book of existing accounts, providing and recommending the most appropriate insurance solutions.

  • Develop and maintain solid relationships with vendors, as well as internal staff.

  • Partner with Producers to assist in the fulfillment of client needs.

  • Ensure overall client satisfaction by providing timely resolution and follow up of service issues that may arise including claims, billing, eligibility, enrollment, etc., Document all client inquiries and service issues .

  • Manage implementation of plan changes including verifying plan benefits sold, rates, proper paperwork submission, and coverage verification.

  • Oversee production of accurate open enrollment materials and benefit handouts.

  • Ensure Overall Client satisfaction by proactively managing and anticipating the day-to-day needs of clients through regular phone contact and occasional client visits; by providing timely resolution and follow up of service issues that may arise including billing, eligibility, enrollment, etc.

  • Follow/complete the renewal checklist/workflow process; prepare renewal strategies in collaboration with the Producer-Benefits consultant and Marketing Representative, General Agent, including proposals and presentations while ensuring agreement with customer's requests/requirements, including preparing comparative spreadsheets.

  • Manage Quality Control requirements; Maintain account files and oversee that documents are placed into appropriate sections for Quality Control guidelines.

  • With assistance from your Benefit Coordinator, review and analyze policies, benefit summaries, SPD's, forms, and rates for accuracy.

  • Utilize Agency Management System as required by company policy.

  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Life, Health, and Annuity License (within ninety days of employment).

  • CEBS designation is a plus.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Bachelors' Degree (preferred)

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • 2-3 years' experience in a benefit counselor role or related experience

  • 2-3 years of Agency experience. (preferred)

  • Insurance Carrier/HR background ( preferred )

  • Clear knowledge of Group Benefit Plans.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
