JOB SUMMARY
The Benefits team is responsible for the overall strategy, design, and management of benefits and resources to attract, retain, and develop top talent. The Senior Manager, Benefits Admin & Absence Management Operations is a key member of the Benefits leadership team, focusing on Marriotts Health & Welfare Absence Management Operations including the full range of time off programs as well as other benefit functions and ancillary benefit programs. This role will primarily lead the operational aspects of the companys leave and time off programs with the management of complex structures and program designs, and update maintenance tables and ensure system configurations are developed and implemented in alignment with business requirements and expectations to administer the leave programs.
Additionally, the role will also provide support to other benefit programs as needed.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years experience in benefits plan administration, consulting or plan management
Experience with benefits leave management, including paid family leave, sick leave, paid time off (PTO), and leave of absence programs
Experience with HCMS and third-party benefits administration platforms (preferred system Oracle HCM)
Strong analytical abilities, critical thinking skills and attention to detail demonstrated through prior work experience
Preferred
Experience working in a union environment, working with Collective Bargaining Agreements
Knowledge and experience with mergers and acquisitions including benefits system integration
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Lead leave management operations and ensure Oracle system configurations are accurately implemented to support complex and variable eligibility structures across the organization impacting multiple types of paid leave programs.
Analyze eligibility needs for business operations and develop solutions within Oracle to support complex and variable benefits eligibility requirements.
Conduct audits to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of leave management processes and data, including paid time off (PTO) and sick leave programs.
Drive cross-functional initiatives for time off program harmonization and improvements all absence programs to eliminate/reduce manual processes.
Identify and implement improvements to policies, procedures, programs, and benefits leveraging technology solutions and vendor resources.
Serve as the policy owner for different benefit programs, including our adoption program, ensuring compliance with policy guidelines, and leading efforts to streamline and automate related processes for improved efficiency and user experience
Serve as the primary point of contact for managing collective agreement information related to benefits operations, acting as a consultant to the legal team during benefit negotiations. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather responses to legal inquiries and ensure necessary system updates are executed accurately
Provide support for Work Life Programs and Ancillary Benefit Programs as needed.
Serve as an escalation point for complex leave and time off operational issues.
The salary range for this position is $108,300 to $173,400 annually.
