The TemPositions Group, a leading staffing firm, is actively recruiting an exceptional HR Generalist for a prominent non-profit organization located in Westchester, NY. As an HR Generalist supporting you'll be instrumental in fostering a positive and productive work environment by assisting with critical HR functions across the employee lifecycle. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth operations and supporting the organization's most valuable asset.
Responsibilities:
- Employee Support & Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and benefits. You'll help resolve general employee concerns and contribute to a harmonious workplace.
- Talent Acquisition Support: Assist with various stages of the recruitment process, including posting job descriptions, scheduling interviews, coordinating pre-employment checks, and helping to ensure a positive candidate experience.
- Onboarding Facilitation: Play a crucial role in welcoming new hires, ensuring all necessary new hire paperwork is completed accurately and that new employees are set up for success from day one.
- Benefits & Leave Administration Assistance: Help with the administrative tasks related to employee benefits programs (health, dental, vision, 401k) and leave management (FMLA, short-term disability), including responding to basic employee questions.
- HRIS Data Management: Maintain precise and confidential employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). You'll be responsible for data entry, ensuring data integrity, and generating standard reports as needed.
- Policy & Compliance Support: Aid in the communication and adherence to company HR policies and procedures, helping to ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local employment laws.
- General HR Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative tasks to support the overall HR department's efficiency, including filing, data organization, and preparing HR-related correspondence.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in an HR support, HR Assistant, or HR Generalist role.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- HR Knowledge: Foundational understanding of HR principles and employment laws.
- HRIS Familiarity: Prior experience working with HR Information Systems (HRIS); specific experience with [Client Company's HRIS, if known, e.g., Workday, ADP, Paylocity] is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, with a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Organizational Prowess: Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail are a must, enabling you to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive employee information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
