Purpose of Position
The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading global payroll for approximately 5,000 employees across North America, Europe, Canada, UK, Asia. The ideal candidate is experienced in multi-state payroll operations, is strategic and passionate for creating innovative payroll solutions.
Tasks and Responsibilities
The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage and lead the Payroll function and team
Ensures accurate and timely processing of all payroll transactions
Manage and audit compliance with all local laws in North America, Europe, Canada, UK, and Asia
Support internal audits and external audits for US payrolls, including any jurisdictional audits by local, state, and federal agencies
Serve as subject matter expert in US payroll, including compensation, benefits, garnishments, and payroll tax and reporting
Work to continuously improve the payroll function, and explore opportunities for streamlining, efficiency improvement and cost reduction
Participate in execution of new payroll related business initiatives in close cooperation with Payroll Director
Build partnerships and manage third party vendors to uphold service standards
Research business problems; and identifies trends and escalates to Director for guidance
Validates root cause analysis developed by associates to discover the source of problems
Captures and reports on operational metrics; escalates issues to Director in a timely manner
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Minimum Experience
7-10 years of experience in progressive Payroll positions with direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
Excellent understanding of multi-state payroll and taxes
HCM/ECP (SAP) or ADP GlobalView experience preferred
Demonstrated Management Experience in a professional, dynamic environment
Collaborative, team-oriented leader
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks and projects
Continuous improvement mindset
