REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of three years' experience in a mid-size business (500+employees) in a comparable position in a comparable industry

Working knowledge of local, state, federal employment regulations and laws.

Strong analytical skills, problem solving, presentation skills and accurate data entry

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite -ability to create advanced spreadsheets, and policy documents, training skills using latest technology available

Time- keeping/clock management and payroll processing experience a plus

Customer service skills, putting the customer (employees) first

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, accounting or related field preferred

Certification in Benefits/Compensation management preferred (CPP, CEBS, PHR)

Payroll processing experience preferred (ADP)

Time- keeping/clock management and payroll processing experience a plus

Valid Driver License, with acceptable driving record

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Administration of company health and welfare benefits, Life and AD&D, disability and retirement benefit plans, and other health/wellness (EAP) programs, including vendor coordination, compliance updating and monitoring in order to support employee work/life balance

Enroll new hires and guide/communicate to benefit users, manage billing statements, validate weekly census and audit ADP for accuracy in specific areas outside of the scope of payroll process

Process Change of Status forms for employee terminations and begin the termination process- for COBRA. As term process is completed in ADP follow up to ensure employees are notified regarding rollovers, and disbursements for retirees

Act as a resource to employees on benefit offerings, eligibility, and claim resolution using the BRC portal

Manage High-Deductible Health Spending Account and FSA Accounts supporting employee communication and information sessions, enrollment and data collection

Ensure accurate and timely enrollment in company 401k plan working toward 80% active census - improve employee communication and info sessions for full plan commitment. Ensure accuracy of data in ADP file

Monitor Pension and 401k retirement requests and provide information to employees regarding annual benefit statements and starting the retirement process. Coach retirees to ensure timely processing of their retirement from determination of the date of retirement to final vacation payout, variable pay and rewards, COBRA options or other health options, 401(k) rollovers & disbursements, Health Savings account, pension

Coordinates Leave of Absence requests for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, all FMLA eligibility requests to process and timely employee communications. Review for ADA management as needed. Acts a SME (Subject Matter Expert) complying with all federal, state and local laws. Communicate with Safety Team for work-related FMLA approved absences

Leads new hire benefit enrollment and open enrollment processes (passive and active) building educational info sessions during onboarding and promoting overall benefits efficiently and in a timely manner

Acts as back-up for ADP payroll audits and processing of payroll as needed

Coordinate with vendors, TPA's and brokers to ensure timely and accurate processing of contributions, deductions, and processing of data.

Support compensation benchmarks, job classification and pay structure analysis using market data and internal equity methods. Create leveling tables, job grades, compensation structure working with the HR Team

Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal laws, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA.

Support the evaluation and enhancement of benefits and compensation programs via market research and employee surveys

Participate as a member of the HR team in projects and wellness initiatives to promote the employee life cycle and retention

Create efficiencies and effective methods to create and enhance lean processes

Mindset and customer service is conducted with empathy and sensitivity, always maintain confidentiality and privacy

Other duties as assigned
