A Brief Overview
A Senior Payroll Systems Analyst is a specialized role within the payroll department that focuses on the technical aspects of payroll processing and systems. This position combines expertise in payroll regulations with a deep understanding of payroll software and technology.
What you will do
Payroll/Timekeeping Systems Management: Oversee and maintain the payroll/timekeeping systems, ensuring they are up-to-date, efficient, and compliant with relevant regulations. Acts as mergers and acquisitions lead.
Payroll Software Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert for the payroll/timekeeping software and related tools, providing guidance and support to the payroll team.
Training: Train payroll team and end-users on the effective use of payroll/timekeeping systems and tools.
Data Integration: Manage data integration between payroll systems and other HR or financial software, ensuring seamless data flow. Review, troubleshoot, and resolve integration errors by doing several daily reviews of the integration files between Workday, ADP Vantage, and Kronos as well as third party vendors for benefits, LOA, tax filing, garnishments, etc.
System Configuration: Configure payroll/timekeeping software settings to accommodate complex payroll scenarios, such as multi-state tax set up, departments, locations, pay elements.
Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing of payroll/timekeeping system updates or changes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Reporting and Analytics: Create, test and produce advanced payroll reports and analytics to support cross functional business partners and third party vendors. Provide all necessary data for analysis and compliance requirements for internal and external business partners.
Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical payroll system issues promptly and effectively.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Compliance and Regulations: Responsible for keeping management informed of changes and/or updates of payroll/timekeeping laws and regulations. Ensures payroll/timekeeping systems are updated accordingly to avoid class action lawsuits and other governmental audits.

Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Required
CPP or FPC Certification Preferred
Experience Qualifications
4-6 years Experience in Payroll acting as a Technical Analyst Required
Skills and Abilities
Team Player with a strong work ethic (High proficiency)
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Excel required (High proficiency)
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using and configuring payroll software and related HRIS (Human Resource Information System) tools. Working knowledge of Kronos and ADP preferred (High proficiency)
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. (High proficiency)
Data Management: Strong data management skills for handling complex payroll data and integrations. (High proficiency)
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to payroll systems. (High proficiency)
Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, software vendors, and external partners (High proficiency)
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate system configurations and data management (High proficiency)
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze payroll data and generate meaningful reports.
