Employee Benefits Associate

Our Client is seeking an Employee Benefits Associate with two or more years of experience advising on employee benefits matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and practical experience with tax-qualified retirement plans, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, and employee welfare benefit plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise clients on compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, Title I of ERISA, and other federal and state laws governing employee benefit plans.
- Draft, review, and amend plan documents for tax-qualified retirement plans, including defined contribution and defined benefit plans.
- Counsel clients regarding nonqualified deferred compensation plans, including compliance with Section 409A.
- Provide guidance on employee welfare benefit plans, including health and welfare arrangements.
- Assist with plan design, operational compliance, and correction of qualification failures.
- Support corporate transactions by conducting benefits due diligence and advising on related risks and liabilities.
- Respond to regulatory inquiries and assist with submissions to the IRS and Department of Labor.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, client alerts, and other written communications.
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Bar admission
- 2+ years of experience in employee benefits and ERISA law.
