Overview:
The Manager, HR PMO is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex, high-impact HR projects that enable business strategy and enhance the associate experience. This role oversees a team of HR Project Managers and partners closely with HR and business stakeholders to ensure work is aligned, well-governed, and delivers meaningful outcomes.
In addition to delivery, this role plays a key part in strengthening and evolving the HR Project Management function by advancing standards, building capability, and driving consistency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership of the Function:
Oversee the delivery of HR projects to ensure work is executed in alignment with established standards, tools, and methodologies.
Establish and maintain strong project governance practices, including clear decision-making structures, prioritization, accountability, and visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies.
Drive consistency and rigor in how projects are planned, executed, and reported.
Foster strong partnerships with HR leaders and HR and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective delivery of work.
Provide thought partnership to HR leaders to shape initiatives, clarify priorities, and translate business needs into structured, actionable solutions.
Lead the ongoing evolution of the function through continuous improvement of processes, templates, tools, and ways of working.
Leadership of the Team:
Lead, develop, and support a team of HR Project Managers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to strengthen capability and support career growth.
Promote transparency, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning across the team.
Ensure appropriate workload balance and resource alignment to meet business needs.
Leadership of Individual Projects:
Lead and oversee the delivery of complex, high-impact HR projects, ensuring clarity of scope, outcomes, and success measures.
Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, and cross-functional dependencies.
Maintain strong stakeholder alignment and facilitate timely decision-making.
Serve as a trusted partner to HR and business leaders, providing structure, insights, and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, concentration in Business, Management, Marketing, Communication, Human Resources, Change Management preferred
3 years of experience in Project Management, HR or a related role
Strong project management skills including planning, prioritization, critical thinking and execution
Ability to influence with and without authority
Comfort navigating ambiguity and competing priorities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience leading others
PMP or other program management certification a plus
Experience working within an HR function or on HR transformation initiatives
Familiarity with change management principles
Experience operating in a matrixed, global, or highly distributed environment
