Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist provides on-site HR support focused on employee relations and effective workforce management while ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures. The role performs HR-related duties across functional areas including employee relations, onboarding, training coordination, recruitment, performance support, and employment compliance. The Human Resources Generalist addresses personnel matters, supports resolution of workplace concerns, and promotes a respectful and compliant work environment. This role partners closely with senior HR management and site leadership and provides guidance to ensure consistent service delivery and a positive employee experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site Human Resources point of contact, supporting employees and site leadership on HR-related matters and addressing personnel concerns.
  • Coordinate on-site hiring activities, including accepting applications, maintaining applicant and manpower logs, scheduling drug tests, and ensuring compliance with hiring procedures.
  • Facilitate new-hire onboarding by completing employment documentation, benefits paperwork, and conducting initial safety orientation and required training.
  • Prepare, maintain, and safeguard on-site employment records related to hiring, terminations, transfers, and leaves of absence.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures and support resolution of workplace concerns.
  • Conduct employee relations activities such as exit interviews and stay interviews and provide insights to support retention efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of Human Resources experience with emphasis on recruitment, employee relations, and time and attendance management.
  • Construction, industrial, or heavy manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, job-site environment.
  • Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required based on business needs.
