Position Summary
Centro, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and HR Coordinator to support Human Resources initiatives with an emphasis on payroll administration . This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while also supporting a variety of Human Resources functions.
The Payroll and HR Coordinator serves as a key customer service resource for associates and leaders and works closely with the Payroll Manager and HR team to support payroll operations, audits, reporting, and broader HR initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time under the direction of the Payroll Manager
Reconcile timekeeping data between timeclock systems and payroll software
Respond to payroll-related inquiries from associates and leaders with professionalism and accuracy
Assist with payroll tax processing , including federal, state, and local withholdings and filings
Support quarterly and year-end payroll activities , including W-2 preparation and distribution
Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance reporting
Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other wage withholding requirements
Support benefits-related payroll coordination, including reconciling benefit billing to payroll deductions
Respond to employment and wage verifications in accordance with company guidelines
Maintain payroll records and documentation in compliance with record retention requirements
Support Human Resources activities as needed, including recruiting coordination, onboarding support, benefits administration assistance, and HR documentation
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
Payroll experience preferred ; manufacturing and/or multi-state payroll experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
Experience with payroll and Human Resources Information Systems such as ADP.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
