Performs difficult skilled administrative support work, preparing, processing, and maintaining personnel files and records, and related work as apparent or assigned. This position requires effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain confidentiality. Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief Human Resources Officer. Essential Functions: Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the TalentEd personnel management system Manages the Applicant Tracking system to prepare job postings; schedules and logs interviews; reviews and manages applicant files Responsible for the onboarding process of all new employees Primary oversight of the ACPS Absence and Leave management system Collaborates with the Finance Department in the implementation and management of the division's Employee Benefits program Coordinates school division benefits; processes inquiries regarding VRS retirement applications, service disability, and withdrawal of funds; sends out COBRA information Compiles, inputs, and maintains personnel data and updates employee demographics across all employee information systems Processes new hire enrollment into benefits plan and contract information; prepares new hire information materials package Performs background checks and fingerprints on new school employees and volunteers; files and maintains background information; sends background information to Child Protective Services; prepares and disseminates approval list Assists the Chief Human Resources Officer with the oversight of the ACPS Substitute program Assists the Director of Retention, Recruitment, and Professional Learning with the implementation and oversight of the mentor program Assists the Chief Human Resources Officer with staff recognition events throughout the year Assists the Chief Human Resources Officer in updating and maintaining the ACPS Employee Handbook Assists with any committees, councils, and sub-committees at the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, compiles data requests and responses to committees with the requested information, and provides logistical support for all parties involved Prepares, processes, and files personnel and human resources correspondence All other duties as apparent or assigned This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 20 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting and speaking or hearing and occasionally requires standing and walking; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas using the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic). Education and Job Experience: An associate's degree preferred or relevant experience in place of education. General knowledge of personnel policies and procedures relating to school employees; general knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices, and procedures relating to the review and processing of tuition reimbursement claims and various personnel-related information and files; general knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods; thorough knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment; skill in the use of computer equipment; ability to maintain records and to prepare reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
