Assistant Director of Human Resources - Student Affairs Student Affairs - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26002805) As the Assistant Director of Human Resources for Student Affairs at University of Pittsburgh this role is pivotal in supporting our mission to foster a vibrant and inclusive student and staff community. Student Affairs is committed to providing comprehensive services and programs that enhance student learning and development. We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to the growth and well-being of our student body. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources. A key component of this role will be to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the goals of Student Affairs and in alignment with University policies, procedures and all applicable laws. This position will oversee all aspects of the HR function within Student Affairs, including recruitment, facilitating onboarding, training, performance management, employee relations, roster management, leaves of absence, and salary increase process. As strategic leader on the Student Affairs HR team, the Assistant Director will serve as the driving force behind HR projects and initiatives, both routine and those designed to fill identified needs. This position will serve as the primary responsible party in ensuring compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement(s) while fostering productive labor relations - including grievance handling, adherence to CBA terms, and maintaining positive employee relations in a unionized environment. As a representative of the employer, it is vital that this role maintains confidentiality and discretion as they have access to confidential and sensitive information to labor relation matters both for union and non-unionized employees. Collaborate closely with department heads and directors to provide strategic HR guidance and manage the Employee and Labor concerns and processes. This role will be a key contributor to the development and execution of the Division of Student Affairs' strategic plan and developing the Division's policies and procedures related to HR, including conducting regular assessments of HR policies and procedures to ensure they meet the evolving needs of our diverse workforce.
