Position: Human Resources Business Partner (Hybrid)
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for formulating strategic partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the core mission/service objectives of Volunteers of America-GNY. The HRBP advises management to improve workforce productivity, quality, skills, and flexibility so as to enhance overall organizational effectiveness. The HRBP will be the key liaison between assigned program staff (particularly Senior Leadership partners such AVP, Sector Director & Program Director) and internal HR departmental services.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Human Resources or related field plus 3-5 years related experience or satisfactory combination of education and experience.Excellent oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships with management, employees, and the general public required.Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel computer applications necessary.Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines are essential.The position requires attainment of either the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or the Certified Professional in Human Resources (SPHR-CP) certification within two (2) years.
Human Resources Business Partner Principal Responsibilities:
Partner with program management on staffing and promote diversity awareness in hiring practices.Partner with program management to implement effective HR policies and practices that support strategic plans.
Work closely with program management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Conducts employee training on various skills, policy, and compliance areas.Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.Provides guidance on employee behavior and conflict resolution.Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.Works in collaboration with program and HR Operations in managing payroll processing.Assists in coordinating employee benefit program, including tuition reimbursement program.Assists in maintaining, tracking, and reporting HRIS data and personnel records.Ensure compliance with agency human resources policies and with external regulations.
