Safety Advisor - Traveling

Position Summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support heavy civil, construction, road building, and mining project sites. This fieldbased role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing handson safety leadership across multiple project locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver fieldlevel safety orientations and lead safety meetings
• Promote and model safe work behaviors and best practices
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Support incident and nearmiss investigations
• Monitor compliance with Turner Staffing Group's Safe Work Practices and PPE policies
• Collaborate with workers, supervisors, and management to identify and mitigate hazards
• Track safety trends and recommend continuous improvements
• Travel to multiple project sites as required

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in heavy civil, construction, or mining environments
• Strong knowledge of provincial OH&S regulations
• MSHA Part 48 certification or ability to obtain
• Alcohol and Drug Screening (preemployment)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 12hour rotational day/night shifts
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong communication, organization, and problemsolving skills
• High school diploma required; postsecondary education an asset
