Job Description: Position Overview: This pivotal role is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Christian Brothers University. The Director of Human Resources provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team. Position Summary: HR Director is responsible for the smooth operation of the university's human resources department. Provides consultation to management on strategic staffing plans, compensation, benefits, training and development, budget, and faculty/staff relations. Takes a leadership role in developing a culture that enables faculty/staff perform in accordance to the objectives of the university. Key Responsibilities: Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's long term goals; identifies ways to support this mission through talent management. Establish and administer processes and procedures to identify, recruit and process candidates for employment with the University. Serve as a Deputy Title IX coordinator and is responsible for Title IX compliance in matters involving employees and visitors, including training, education, communications and investigation of complaints. Direct the development and implementation of organizational programs and employee records and documentation policies, employee orientation and training programs, benefits plans, policies and guidelines, equal opportunity employment programs, employee records database management, prepare and distribute various reports on HR metrics to ensure needs of the university are met. Establish, maintain and administer a total compensation package which provides maximum value to the faculty and staff of the university. Draft, revise, maintain and implement comprehensive policies and procedures which govern the personnel practices of the University and provide for university compliance with federal and state legislation and regulation. Reduce risk of liability by advising President, Vice Presidents, Deans, and department managers on legal implications of HR issues related to discipline and employee grievances. Work with outside university appointed legal counsel to optimally resolve high risk litigation exposure. Develop and provide detailed budgetary information for the compensation and insurance needs of the University. Perform other duties as requested. Requirements: Position Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field; Masters preferred. Five or more years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience with supervisory capacity. Demonstrated record of having successfully implementing progressive, innovative human resources programs, initiatives and services. Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions to human resources issues in a large and intricate organizational setting. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Banner. Excellent communication, relational and team skills.
