Renewal dependent upon satisfactory performance, program needs, and availability of funds. Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as human resources trainer handling specialized content related to but not limited to leadership and supervisory development, labor relations and other related HR areas.

Work with UHCC system and other Community College campuses by advising and providing expert advice and support in the area of labor relations, training and other human resources areas as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Business Administration or related field and 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in human resources administration with responsibilities for assessing training needs, developing and conducting training; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. 2. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of human resources management, training program and labor relations as demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology. 3. Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with human resources management. 4. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of higher education administrative support. 5. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. 6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. 7. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software. 8. Ability to follow through with instructions and meet stated deadlines. 9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong organizational skills.

10. Ability to develop engaging training materials that align with internal standards and external regulations and convey complex policies and training materials clearly and accurately,

11. Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and apply statutes, collective bargaining provisions, and human resources and administrative policies, procedures, and rules to a wide range of complex issues.
12. Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently manage multiple responsibilities while excelling at multitasking and performing effectively under pressure in deadline-driven environments.
13. Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, confidentiality, sound discretion and judgment and timeliness in performance of work.

Desirable Qualifications: 1. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information from various sources and clearly present them verbally and in writing to a variety of sources. 2. Experience with unionized employee groups which demonstrates knowledge of the conditions of service typical for unionized work environment

3. Considerable working knowledge of the University of Hawaiis organizational structure and key governing policies and procedures, including UH Systemwide Policies and Procedures Information System (PPIS) and relevant Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS).
