Secaucus, New Jersey Job Summary: The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a key liaison between Human Resources and assigned corporate client groups within a retail environment. This role is responsible for delivering operational excellence across core HR functions, with a strong focus on employee relations, associate engagement, and data integrity. The HRBP ensures accurate organizational structures, manages employee data within Workday, and supports talent processes while delivering a seamless, end-to-end associate lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding.The HRBP partners closely with Recruiting, Learning & Development, and Compensation to deliver integrated HR solutions that align with business objectives. Combining strategic partnership with hands-on execution, this role requires strong attention to detail, systems proficiency, sound judgment, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
HR Operations & Administrative Excellence
- Maintain and update organizational charts, ensuring alignment with current business structures and leadership changes
- Accurately manage employee data and transactions within Workday (hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, reporting lines, job changes)
- Audit HR data regularly to ensure integrity, compliance, and reporting accuracy
- Serve as a subject matter expert on HR systems and processes for assigned client groups
Associate Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the end-to-end associate journey, including onboarding, development, internal mobility, and offboarding
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring processes, including requisition creation and approvals
- Draft and manage offer letters, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with compensation guidelines
- Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and engaging new hire experience
- Manage offboarding processes, including exit documentation, exit interviews, and system updates
Employee Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance to managers and associates on workplace concerns
- Conduct and support investigations related to employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace conflicts
- Partner with leadership to resolve issues in a fair, consistent, and compliant manner
- Coach managers on performance management, feedback, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure proper documentation of employee relations cases and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Monitor trends in employee relations and proactively recommend solutions to improve the work environment
Corporate Culture & Engagement
- Champion company values and help foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture
- Partner with leadership to drive employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, action planning, and recognition programs
- Support and execute engagement activities, events, and communications that enhance the associate experience
- Analyze engagement survey results and provide actionable insights to leaders
- Act as a cultural ambassador, reinforcing behaviors that align with company values
Job Architecture & Documentation
- Create, update, and maintain job descriptions in alignment with organizational needs and compensation frameworks
- Ensure job descriptions reflect accurate responsibilities, qualifications, and leveling
- Partner with leadership to evolve roles as business needs change
Business Partnership
- Support leaders with organizational planning, headcount tracking, and workforce changes
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
- Act as a trusted partner to managers, ensuring consistent application of HR processes
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations
- Generate and analyze HR reports (headcount, turnover, engagement metrics, organizational changes)
- Support audits and documentation requirements as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
36+ years of HR experience, preferably in a retail or corporate environment - Strong experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems
- Experience handling employee relations matters and investigations
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume administrative HR processes with accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting corporate functions in a retail organization
- Familiarity with job architecture and compensation frameworks

Hourly/Salary
$50,000.00 - $125,000.00 Salary
