As a Human Resources and Safety professional, you will play a vital role in balancing employee relations, payroll support, and workplace safety initiatives to ensure smooth daily operations across the facility.

Below are the main roles and responsibiltites for this opportunity:

  • Completing full-cycle recruitment, including writing job descriptions, sourcing resumes, and scheduling interviews to bring new candidates into the team.
  • Utilizing online job posting applications and strategies to maintain a steady pool of local and foreign applicants.
  • Creating, implementing, and preparing structured tools and processes for employee onboarding and training.
  • Ensuring hiring meets the company's manpower requirements.
  • Enabling temporary work agencies to bring in manpower when required.
  • Managing day off requests and posting holidays well in advance.
  • Managing times via QuickBooks and approving and verifying daily timesheets.
  • Tracking and measuring labour costs on both a daily and weekly basis.
  • Acting as a liaison between team members and the payroll team.
  • Providing practical advice and action in employee relations, performance management, progressive discipline, training, consistent policy application, and legislation awareness.
  • Refining and maintaining HR policies and team member handbooks to create a consistent working environment across all operations.
  • Managing ongoing training programs, developing and delivering presentations for special projects, and keeping records for all trainings.
  • Managing the team member safety program, making changes and additions where needed for continuous improvement.
  • Completing monthly site inspections for health and safety requirements and ensuring annual inspections are done for compliance with safety regulations.
  • Keeping a close eye on health and safety guidelines and educating and re-training employees on safe work procedures.
  • Preparing SOPs and training presentations to train employees on health and safety risks on machines.
  • Handling WCB cases, Service Canada concerns, and submitting OHS reports.
  • Conducting employee exit interviews and handling the offboarding process based on Employment Standards.
  • Constructing termination letters, answering employee concerns, and keeping up-to-date employee lists.
