Schedule:2026-2027 School Year (12-month, full-time position)
Salary: $110,000 - $130,000

Position Overview:
The Director of Human Resources provides comprehensive leadership and administration for all human resources functions of the Milford Public Schools. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Human Resources, this position is responsible for the full lifecycle of employment - from recruitment and onboarding through professional growth, compliance, and separation - ensuring that the district attracts, retains, and supports a diverse, highly qualified workforce.
The Director serves as the district's primary resource on employment law, labor relations, policy compliance, and employee relations. This position maintains the integrity of all HR systems, records, and documentation; oversees benefits administration; maintains and updates the district's HR handbook, leads civil rights investigations; and manages the district's job description library and position posting processes. The Director also supports professional training and development for all staff, plays a meaningful role in supporting the professional growth of new educators through mentoring program coordination, and other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee and serves as a trusted partner to district and building leaders on all personnel matters.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferredMinimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible HR experience, a public school or municipal HR setting preferredDemonstrated knowledge of federal and Massachusetts employment law, including Title IX, Title VI, ADA, FMLA, PFML, and collective bargainingExperience conducting workplace investigations, including civil rights complaintsSHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferredExperience with HR information systems and personnel recordkeepingStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalismCommitment to equitable, inclusive, and legally compliant HR practices
