Click apply to start the process!Overview:This hands-on role is responsible for the Safety department of this facility and requires being on-call, being active on the production floor, and managing relevant administrative duties.Duties & Responsibilities:Plans and presents weekly Safety MeetingsProvides 24-hour on-call responses to all safety incidents such as employee injury or fire alarmSupports safety as a top priority in training, job design, employee onboarding, and regulatory complianceCommits to overall safety of the plant and proceduresPerforms strategic thinking and actively participates in plant and company processesBuilds and retains a customer focused environment; including internal and external customersCommunicates the needs of all safety operations functions to the Production Manager and or Plant Manager and local Management team on an as needed basisDevelops and analyzes new methods of reducing/avoiding costs, improving products and assuring a safe working environmentInvestigates incidents, monitors medical careCreates and conducts the new-hire safety orientation programMonitors light duty program: develops jobs, communicates with physician/doctor, etcCompletes and maintains all paperwork with regards to work-related incidentsAssists Divisional Safety Manager in filing workers compensation insurance related information and obtaining quotesAssists Divisional Safety Manager in purchasing safety equipment and systemsMaintains membership in applicable safety or environmental associations to stay informed of new developments and trendsPrepares legal notices, postings, and reports as required by government and regulatory bodiesComplies with company policies and proceduresAdditional duties as assigned by managementQualificationsEducation and Experience:Safety experience in manufacturingProven interpersonal communication and presentation skillsProven ability to be detail-orientedPrevious leadership experience in manufacturing preferredBilingual - English & Spanish a plus!Required Skills:Technical SkillsEquipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.Leadership SkillsCrisis managementTeaching, training, and coachingInterpersonal communicationEmployee relationsMathematical SkillsAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.Able to apply concepts of high school math.Certificates, Licenses, and RegistrationsMay be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipmentPhysical Demands:Physical demands: Standing, sitting, walking, push/pull, ability to lift/carry 10lbs-50lbs.Must be able to work in a Manufacturing environment if required.
