HR Coordinator Job Description The HR Coordinator supports end-to-end recruiting, onboarding, and HR administration for a fast-paced manufacturing site. This role screens candidates, coordinates interviews and new-hire orientation, maintains accurate HR and recruiting records, and responds to employee inquiries while upholding strict confidentiality. The HR Coordinator partners closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, and plant operations to meet production-driven staffing needs and enhance the overall candidate and employee experience. Responsibilities Screen resumes and applications against defined hiring criteria and coordinate interviews, pre-employment steps, and candidate communications. Schedule new-hire orientations, prepare orientation materials, and confirm candidate attendance. Maintain accurate recruiting activity records and trackers in ATS/HRIS systems and spreadsheets, and compile weekly updates for HR and operations. Support occasional hiring events such as job fairs and onsite interview days, including coordinating plant tours. Coordinate onboarding tasks with IT, Payroll, and Facilities; collect required documentation and run background checks as applicable. Conduct new-hire orientations and maintain employee files and records in compliance with company policies and site requirements. Assist with offboarding processes, including exit interview logistics and related documentation. Update HR systems and SharePoint sites and generate and distribute routine HR reports. Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, employment verifications, and HR policies and processes within defined service-level expectations. Provide backup support for payroll and timekeeping processes as assigned. Uphold confidentiality and data integrity in all HR activities and assist with documentation related to HR policies and manufacturing site compliance requirements. Coordinate training logistics, track training completions, and support documentation of participation. Help plan and facilitate engagement activities such as plant events and employee-focused initiatives. Partner with HR, Talent Acquisition, and plant operations teams to streamline workflows and improve candidate and employee experiences. Demonstrate strong action orientation and effective prioritization to meet staffing timelines and production-driven needs. Essential Skills 1-2+ years of experience in recruiting or human resources within a manufacturing plant environment, with Talent Acquisition or recruiting experience strongly preferred. Hands-on human resources and HR administration experience, including recruiting coordination and employee support. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and job boards. High school diploma or equivalent. Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective listening abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Ability to provide high-quality customer service to candidates and employees. Administrative support skills, including accurate data entry and document management. Comfort interacting confidently with candidates, employees, and leadership both in person and virtually. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred. Experience supporting recruiting and HR processes specifically in a manufacturing or plant setting. Experience coordinating hiring events, job fairs, and onsite interview days. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as HR, Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll, Facilities, and plant operations. Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to streamline processes and improve workflows. Demonstrated action orientation and ability to manage multiple priorities against tight staffing and production timelines. Comfort using SharePoint or similar collaboration tools to manage HR content and communication. Ability to support basic payroll and timekeeping processes as backup when needed. Work Environment This is a full-time, 100% onsite position based in a manufacturing plant environment. The HR Coordinator works closely with on-site HR leadership and partners with operations, IT, Payroll, and Facilities teams. The role involves frequent in-person interaction with candidates and employees, including participation in plant tours, hiring events, and engagement activities. Work is fast-paced and production-driven, requiring responsiveness, organization, and consistent follow-through in an office setting within the plant. Standard office technologies, HR systems (ATS/HRIS), Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint are used regularly to manage recruiting and HR processes.
