The Nueces Center for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities (MHID) is dedicated to helping the residents of Nueces County who are living with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve over 10,000 people each year with psychiatric and behavioral health care outpatient services, counseling, training, employment assistance, housing support, homeless outreach, children's mental health care and more.

Hourly/Non-Exempt: $20.34 - $23.34

Full-Time, 40 Hour Work Week, Paid Bi-weekly

General Description

Performs intermediate - level human resources management and technical assistance work. Work involves assisting in the administration of a human resources management program and ensuring compliance with state and federal law regulations. Works under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative independent judgment. Responsible for all employee and client-related functions from recruitment through terminations.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in human resources management work. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in human resource management, business or public administration or related field is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. In the course of being employed, understands, and implements trauma informed care practices. Must maintain valid Texas Driver's License, Liability Vehicle Insurance and a good driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management; of human resources programs such as employment, compensation, and classifications. Skills in conducting interviews, in using computers and human resources related software application and in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing oral and written communications, in using computers and human resources related software applications, and in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing. Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff and the public, must maintain confidential sensitive information ability to develop and analyze human resource processes and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with application, employees, and the general public. Ability to evaluate application qualifications, to analyze job requirements, to prepare job descriptions, and to communicate effectively.
