The Choice is growing our internal recruiting team in 2026! We are searching for a temporary to hire Recruiter to join our team ASAP.

We are a women-owned, women-led staffing agency that recruits for nonprofits, associations, and mission-driven organizations across Washington, DC. Placing candidates at organizations with good missions is our highest priority and we are proud to partner with organizations that are working to advance healthcare, education, philanthropy, international development, sustainability, and policy reform.

We staff temporary, temporary-to-hire, and direct-hire roles that are often immediate hiring needs. The role is fast-paced, however you will make a real impact in many people's careers! We place 100+ professionals in meaningful nonprofit roles each year, and many of our internal team members have built long-term careers here.

Duties:

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting from candidate sourcing through offer and onboarding. This will include meeting virtually with external hiring managers, posting job listings on job boards, reviewing applicants, conducting phone and virtual interviews with candidates, coordinating client interview processes, and extending job offers.
  • Once candidates are placed in positions: answering questions from associates and conducting check ins with both the contractors and hiring managers.
  • Maintaining strong and positive relationships with hiring managers/clients. This means responding to client inquiries in a timely manner, checking in on accounts on a regular basis, and occasionally attending lunch meetings or office tours at a client site with our team, as needed.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance recruiting processes and candidate experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-2+ years of professional experience. We are open to a wide range of industries or experience that is transferrable to recruiting such as customer service, client relations, hospitality, sales, or another people-focused roles. Candidates must be comfortable in a forward-facing role, as this position frequently interacts with clients and candidates.
  • Strong and highly professional communication skills across phone, video, and written formats
  • Team-oriented, flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning ATS systems and recruiting tools
  • DC-area based with flexibility to work in DC Office 1 to 2 days a week. This is not a fully remote position.
