Human Resources Director Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead and evolve the people strategy for a growing, multi-location organization. This highly visible leadership role will partner closely with executive stakeholders to drive workforce planning, organizational development, talent acquisition, employee engagement, and compliance initiatives across a geographically dispersed workforce. The ideal candidate is a strategic HR leader who can balance high-level planning with hands-on execution while fostering a positive and performance-driven culture. This role is on-site in Portland, Oregon. Human Resources Director Responsibilities Develop and execute human resources strategies that support organizational growth, workforce planning, and long-term business objectives. Partner with executive leadership to guide organizational design, succession planning, leadership development, and employee engagement initiatives. Oversee talent acquisition efforts for both corporate and operational teams, ensuring effective recruiting, onboarding, and retention practices. Lead employee relations activities, including performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and policy administration. Design, implement, and enhance onboarding, training, and leadership development programs to support employee growth and operational success. Manage compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs, including market benchmarking, annual planning, and enrollment activities. Collaborate with finance and operational leaders to support workforce forecasting, labor planning, and budget management efforts. Ensure payroll processes, HR systems, and employee data are maintained accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations. Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions and operational locations. Develop and analyze workforce metrics, providing leadership with insights to support informed business decisions. Lead, mentor, and develop HR team members while establishing scalable processes and best practices. Human Resources Director Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 8+ years of progressive human resources experience, including leadership responsibility for HR functions and teams. 2+ years of HR leadership experience supporting multi-site, field-based, retail, hospitality, food service, manufacturing, distribution, or similar operational environments. Demonstrated experience in organizational development, employee relations, performance management, and leadership coaching. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices. Experience supporting organizations with employees across multiple states and locations. Proven ability to influence leaders, build relationships, and drive organizational change. Experience with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and workforce analytics; ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to leverage data to improve outcomes.
