Human Resources Generalist Job Description This Human Resources Generalist role is ideal for a talented and dynamic HR professional in the early stages of their career who is eager to develop and grow. The position focuses on supporting recruitment and hiring activities while providing comprehensive administrative support to the HR department. You will handle day-to-day human resources functions and help create and maintain a positive employee relations environment across the organization. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day support across core human resources functions, including sourcing, recruitment, employee relations, new hire administration, and terminations. Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the process. Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters to the appropriate HR staff. Conduct thorough employee relations investigations, document findings, and determine or recommend appropriate corrective actions that comply with company policies and applicable laws. Maintain and update data in HRIS systems, perform regular audits to ensure data integrity, and prepare and generate reports for management review. Support the maintenance of organizational charts and employee files, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards and legal requirements. Assist with onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including coordination of documentation and communication with internal stakeholders. Execute and assist with additional HR projects and tasks as assigned, contributing to process improvements and HR initiatives. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in a human resources-related field or a combination of schooling and 2+ years of on-the-job human resources experience. Experience in human resources generalist functions, including HR administration, recruitment, onboarding, and HR support. Knowledge of local and federal labor laws and regulations, as well as HR principles, practices, and procedures. Experience with HR systems and HRIS platforms, including data entry, maintenance, and reporting. Demonstrated experience in employee relations, including handling inquiries and supporting investigations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting, documentation, and communication. Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze issues and identify appropriate solutions. Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with applicants, employees, and supervisors. Fluency in English. Additional Skills & Qualifications Human resource management experience or education, including familiarity with core HR functions and processes. Experience with recruiting and sourcing candidates for a variety of roles. Knowledge of employee benefits administration and related HR programs. Experience working with FMLA or similar leave management processes. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced HR environment. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Korean language skills are a plus. Work Environment This position is fully on-site, five days a week, with a Monday through Friday schedule. Typical working hours are either 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The role will initially be based in Pontiac, MI for approximately the first three to four months, after which the work location will transition to the Chesterfield and New Baltimore area. You will work in a professional office environment, using HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment to support HR operations. The position involves regular interaction with employees, supervisors, and applicants, fostering a collaborative and supportive workplace culture focused on positive employee relations and professional growth. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Pontiac, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62000.00/yr. Working to get these from the hiring manager.
