Position Summary: The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional support for Henderson State University (HSU) employees. This position performs human resource activities in support of the university. As part of a team, assignments will fall in a variety of areas including benefits and leave coordination, training, records maintenance, payroll related tasks, HR customer service, and other areas. Individuals in this position assist with data collection and report preparation for special projects, and work in assisting employees and disseminating personnel information. This position works closely with the ASU Jonesboro (ASU-J) campus for shared services coordination. Duties & Responsibilities: Assist employees in the onboarding process including I-9 verifications and technical assistance with on-boarding software (i.e. Taleo, Guardian/Lawlogix). Respond to employee and HR Strategic Partner inquiries including shared services as well as external inquiries and requests. Maintain HSU retirement payment database and process payments on a quarterly and annual basis. Maintain and process retiree insurance payments monthly. Provide timesheet and leave report training for new employees. Coordinate with departments and ASU-J to process terminations as needed for full and part-time employees. Assist with research necessary to complete various Human Resources reports. Assist in data collection for internal statistics reports. Answer questions and coordinate pre-employment activity including assisting with benefit elections. Assign and manage employee compliance training through the Vector Solutions database. Assist with development, implementation, and training of new or revised human resources related programs and processes. Assist with data entry for personnel actions, payroll information, and benefits in databases as needed (i.e., EPAF, Taleo, and Selerix). Assist with the off-boarding process as needed. Provide general office and clerical support on an as needed basis. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent customer service skills. Strong, effective communication skills with a diverse clientele base both written and verbal. Acute critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to relate to and work well with employees of diverse personalities. Proficiency in multiple computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and word processing. General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Other: Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M. CST on the position closing date Minimum Qualifications: An earned high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications: An earned Bachelors Degree and experience working in a Human Resources Department and/or Higher Education/school setting.
