Position Summary

Somni is seeking a Part-Time Human Resources & People Coordinator to support our team and help foster a positive, professional, and compliant workplace culture. This role will work closely with ownership and management to assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and team development initiatives.

This position is ideal for an organized, people-focused professional who enjoys working in a dynamic hospitality environment and is passionate about supporting high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks.
  • Support employee relations by serving as a resource for team members and helping address workplace concerns.
  • Assist managers with performance reviews, documentation, and employee development initiatives.
  • Coordinate payroll-related documentation, benefits administration, and leave requests.
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, and HR documentation.
  • Support training, orientation, and professional development programs.
  • Help foster a positive workplace culture aligned with Somnis values and standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Hospitality, restaurant, hotel, or luxury service experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Professional, approachable, and highly discreet.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and HR/payroll platforms.
Schedule
  • Part-Time
  • Approximately 2025 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule based on business needs
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience.
  • Expected range: $35$45 per hour
  • Paid sick leave in accordance with California law.
