Purpose:
Manages and supervises the Transit Instruction and Phway Review programs. Coordines with King County Metros Access Parransit service for ongoing development and implemention of Conditional Eligibility. Performs as part of a team with other MV Transit Department Managers and staff to meet and exceed project goals.
Responsibilities:MV Transportion is seeking an experienced training manager who will manage and supervise the Transit Instruction and Phway Review programs.
Major Job Responsibilities include the following:
- Manages the staffing process for the Transit Options Department including interviewing, hiring and training staff in compliance with policy and procedure.
- Coordines, organizes and manages Transit Options staff and work activities. Compiles and analyzes reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure we are meeting the programs goals in an effective and efficient manner. Manages Transit Options staff ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality of services provided.
- Prepares and delivers performance appraisals, administers progressive discipline, and recommends terminions as needed. Administers coaching, counseling and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Identifies, develops and implements procedures for the improvement of processes. Cree new procedures and updes existing training merials and MV Policy & Procedure Manual as needed due to policy changes.
- Ensures adeque staffing levels to provide a high level of customer sisfaction while controlling overtime; reviews and processes payroll. Monitors tendance documenting tardiness, absences, pre-approved leave requests, etc. Approves or denies time of requests and manages shift coverage and employee tendance while working within budget constraints.
- Develops staff; provides informion, educional opportunities, cross training, customer service training, sensitivity training, etc. Administers and develops ongoing training in conjunction with Lead Mobility Specialist, Outreach Coordinor, and other team members.
- Plans and facilites staff meetings on a regular basis to set goals and maintain departmental and company standards.
- Oversees Transit Instructor training assignments and ensures productive use of staff resources. Oversees the work and productivity of the Outreach Coordinor, Transit Instructors, and Mobility Specialists to ensure program goals are met.
- Develops positive community relionships with various disability organizions, senior service organizions, and High School Special Educion programs within King County. Conducts professional oral presentions to management, contractors, social service agencies and members of the general public.
- Coordines with the Metro Mobility Planning and Conditional Eligibility workgroup to provide advice and quality control regarding Phway Review and Transit Instruction programs.
- Able to perform Transit Instruction Outreach presentions as needed for staff members of various professional agencies within King County th provide care and management of seniors and people with disabilities. Ensures coordinion, training, and performance of monthly fixed-route coach Ramp Instruction as needed for individuals with disabilities.
- Attends community health fairs and informional events which focus on special needs populions as needed to represent MV Transit Instruction program in a helpful and professional manner.
- Attends industry conferences and events such as the annual conferences for the Associion for Travel Instruction (ATI), Community Transportion Associion of the Northwest (CTANW), regional coordinion meetings, etc. to represent the company, research and bring back industry best practices and promote the use of of Transit Instruction nionally.
- Produces and maintains clear and detailed documention in a meticulous manner. Prepares and delivers accure and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to meet client agency and/or company requirements.
- Works outside in all types of weher while using Fixed-Route transportion as a learning environment. This includes working in cold, rain, snow and/or he.
- Communices any issues to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager as they arise.
Minimum Educion & Certificions Required:
- Bachelors degree in Social Services, Special Educion, or reled field of study is preferred. MSW or social work certificion (or reled health field) may be substituted for degree.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Four (4) or more years work experience working with or providing services for persons with disabilities, especially those with perceptual, cognitive, and/or mobility disabilities.
- Experience in individual training and public speaking. Demonstre ability to provide training and support to people of all abilities and levels of sophisticion.
- Should have in-depth experience in naviging through an urban area on a bus; preferably the local transit systems opering within King County, Washington.
- Must have the ability to track multiple projects, give support to staff members, and keep a timely schedule while maintaining good working relions with diverse staff to cree a team environment.
- Must always be able to work flexible hours and be available to staff throughout the day. This includes being available to work early mornings, le evenings, weekdays, and weekends as business needs require.
- Must be self-motived and problem-solve customer public transportion issues while being able to rele this informion to others accurely and appropriely upon request. Should be detail oriented, meticulous and thorough in executing all duties of the position.
- Must possess a minimum an intermedie skill level of the Microsoft Office opering system including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Also, must have the ability to quickly learn and utilize new software programs.
- Familiarizion with Trapeze CERT and ATIS software modules preferred.
- Must demonstre excellent communicion skills and the ability to work well with diverse populions.
- Must possess a WA ste drivers license with a good driving record meeting certain criterion as defined by MV Transit employee policy. MV Transit driving record policies are provided upon request.
Starting Salary Range: $42 - $46.22/hour
